Due to unpredictable Jan weather and the on-going govt shut down, this trip has been cancelled. May be rescheduled at a later date.
We will be returning to Death Valley this coming January (2019). Plan to arrive at Death Valley on Sunday, January 20, enjoy the park for 3 days, and leave Thursday, January 24th. Tentative plans are a day in the Beatty NV area, a day exploring canyon roads on the west side of Badwater Basin and a day going out to Eureka Dunes. We have reservations at The Ranch for the four nights and trips will probably leave from that area each morning. Camping is also available in the area. Lester and Ruth will be in Moab the afternoon of 2-15. They plan to run Fallen Peace Officer Trail. If interested meet them behind the Best Western Canyonlands Inn (plan to already have eaten lunch)at 12:30pm. They plan to join Red Rock 4-wheelers for their trip of the month (Fins-N-Things) on the 16th; will stay overnight. Hope to do a short trail on the 17th before returning home. Trail for the 17th will probably be Tusher Tunnel. If interested, meet behind Canyonlands Inn at 9am with all the usuals. Call them with any questions -964-4719.
Ferris M. has been asked to lead Backwards Bill for EJS. This will be a pre-run of that trail. If interested meet at US 191 and UT 313 at 10am, the turn to Dead Horse State Park. Have a full tank of gas, lunch, water, etc.
Lester and Ruth will lead 3 days of trail rides on the north side of Phoenix AZ. First day of trail rides will be March 31st. Plan to meet at the Holiday Inn Express, 4575 East Irma Lane, Phoenix at 9am. Contact them for additional details.
Matt and Lisa G. will lead several days of exploration and hiking in the San Rafael Swell area. Camping in the area of Goblin valley Sate Park; other accommodations and services in Hanksville UT, approximately 20 miles south. Contact them for additional information and detail.
This is our annual season opener complete with a cook-out at the end of Chuckar Trail. Plan to meet at Downtown City Market at 9AM. Contact Linnea about what to bring for the picnic and cook-out after the trail run. Bring water, any snacks for before the picnic, your chairs and a side dish or dessert to share.
Club members are invited to try their hand / vehicle at running both Calamity and Scratch-N-Dent. VP Eddie P. will lead and keep everyone out of trouble. Meet at the Downtown City Market at 9am. Bring lunch, water, snacks, etc and have a full tank of gas.
Travel to Aztec on Monday May 13. Return on Thursday May 16.
Headquarters will be Presidential Inn & Suites in Aztec.
Plan to search for Arches, visit the ruins in town & visit the winery at Blanco.
