WS4W Club Calendar
Monthly club meeting 7:00 pm at Lion’s Clubhouse, 602 North Nevada, Montrose
The club meets the first Tuesday of every month unless displaced by a holiday.
Lester and Ruth Will lead the Bookcliffs Loop in the Grand Junction area. We plan to leave from the north side of exit 227 (in UT) on I70 at 10:30am. Allow about 2 to 21/4 hours drive time from Montrose, allowing for construction and traffic. Total mileage for the trail is about 77 miles and the trail is rated a 1 – basically a dirt road but we want to explore it. Please have a full tank of gas (last chance for a fill up is Fruita exit), lunch, snacks and water.
The Grand Mesa Jeep Club has indicated they intend to hold their annual event Rock Junction from Thursday June 3 through Sunday, June 6th. Reference their website for more information as it becomes available.
Club dinner for June 2021 will be held at Camp Robber. Plan to be there at 6pm. This will be our first club dinner in quite a while so let’s have a good attendance.
The Nucla / Naturita Chamber of Commerce will host their annual West End Poker Run on Saturday, June 12. Registration is currently open but is limited to 30 vehicles on a first come basis. Not trail rating can be given as trail to be run is not disclosed ahead of time. Lunch is provided on the trail but have a full tank of gas and bring water and snacks. Stan M. will lead the clean up for our adopted trail of Corkscrew Pass in the San Juans. Trail rated a “4”. Meet at South City Market at 9am. Have a full tank of gas, bring lunch, water, snacks, etc. This run is dependent on trail conditions and / or snow.
Rick A. will lead reopening the gates on Poughkeepsie. Plan to meet at South City Market at 9am. Have a full tank of gas, lunch, water, snacks, etc. Trail is rated as difficult. This run is dependent on trail conditions and /or snow.
Rick A. will lead Black Bear Pass. Plan to meet at South City Market at 9am. This is rated as a “difficult” run. Have a full tank of gas, lunch, water, snacks, etc. This run is dependent on trail conditions and /or snow.
Montrose will be hosting a 4th of July Parade on Sunday, July 4th. Some members of WS4W have expressed an interest in participating. Linnea P will be coordinating this through the club’s Face Book page and group email. Plan to meet club members by the corrals at the County Fairgrounds to decorate your vehicle and line up for the parade. Contact Linnea 970-209-7757 for additional details.
