Price, Utah
Sep 22 @ 1:00 pm – Sep 24 @ 5:00 pm

Lester and Ruth will be leading easy to moderate trails in the Price Utah area Sept. 22,23 and 24. The plan is as follows:

Sept. 22th – meet at the parking lot of the Holiday Inn (925 Westwood Blvd) in Price at 1:00PM, after having lunch. We will drive a relatively easy trail north of Price this afternoon.

Sept. 23th – Meet at the parking lot of the Holiday Inn in Price at 9:00am, with lunch, water, snacks and a full tank of gas. Today’s route is Dry Canyon Trail – 27 miles long; rated a 3; starts south of Price and ends in Nine Mile canyon. We do not plan to explore Nine Mile Canyon (that was done on a previous trip); however, if time allows we hope to connect with Wrinkle Road on the opposite side of Nine Mile Canyon. While we have some directions for this road, there is not much info available on its condition. Plan a full day.

Sept. 24th – Meet at the parking lot of the Holiday Inn in Price at 9:00am, with lunch, water, snacks and a full tank of gas. Today’s trail is North Skyline Drive; believed to be one of the most well-known trails in UT and breathtaking. It is also part of the Great Western Trail. Rated a 2 / 3; 28 miles long. From here we plan a return by way of paved roads through the San Rafael Swell and I-70.

For those of you who are campers, I think there are camping facilities in the area but we have not researched these.

Please contact us with any questions.

October Moab run
Oct 13 @ 9:00 am – Oct 16 @ 5:00 pm

For those who want to go over with us on Oct. 13 – there is a little shopping center in Ridgway on the left side of Hwy. 62 with the grocery store at one end. Plan to meet there at 9:00am. We will go on to Paradox, where we will work our way up to the Rim Rocker trail and Geyser Pass and on into Moab.

On Oct 14th and 15th we will do Canyon Rim Overlook one day and a loop of Onion Creek and Polar Mesa the other day. For both days meet on the north end of the Moab City Market parking lot at 9:00am.

Oct. 16th we plan to come home by way of Hwy 128 (along the Colorado River) and do Pole Canyon Rim on the way home.

All of the trails listed are rated as easy or moderate; although we have not been on some of them for some time.

Bring lunch, water and snacks every day and start with a full tank of gas.

If planning to stay in a motel, we suggest getting a reservation early as the town seems to be filling up that weekend.
